Learn skills to support your people at The Caterer's People Summit

The Caterer's 2022 People Summit will be a day for discovering new skills, strategies to engage staff and tips on taking time out for the health of your team.

Taking place on 12 May at 30 Euston Square, London, this year's People Summit will be an in-person event with talks from experts in the industry who have adapted the way they support and engage with their staff.

At the summit we will ask our experts what new skills are essential in today's world and how teams have responded to acquiring these skills. The importance of role models and mentors will be discussed, as well as how storytelling can help inspire and enthuse.

We will be joined by operators impacted by the pandemic and ask how they have retained their staff. They will share how they have changed their processes to ensure their teams are making time for themselves and practising self-care to avoid burn out, stress and mental health issues.

We will offer hints and tips on using the right language (verbally and visually) to inspire confidence and provide a diverse panel of speakers, all offering crucial advice to anyone wanting to invigorate their workforce.

This is a must-attend event for hospitality HR professionals and any leader who wants to harness the power of their people.

Topics covered will include:

  • Embracing change and developing the future
  • New management skills: are empathy and listening skills top of the agenda?
  • Inspiring role models and individualising career pathways
  • Who is retaining and attracting their people?
  • How to embrace and harness the power of apprentices
  • Using the right language (verbally and visually) to inspire confidence
  • Making time for yourself in a busy industry
  • Technology and how to use it to support your business and teams

The event will also celebrate the Best Places to Work in Hospitality awards, organised in association with our partners, employee engagement consultancy and people technology specialists Purple Cubed, and sponsored by training and apprenticeship provider Umbrella Training.

Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2022

There is still time to enter the Best Places to Work in Hospitality. Run in partnership with Purple Cubed and sponsored by Umbrella Training.

In 2022, the Best Places to Work in Hospitality top 30 will highlight those organisations that are delivering on what really matters, as well as checking engagement levels and other key areas.

The top 30 list is not influenced by leaders, operators, or marketing. The companies featured on the Top 30 listing are recommended by their own employees, who answer the ultimate five ‘killer' questions, as well as identifying what's important to them at work and how well you (their employer) are delivering on that.

The survey outcomes will provide essential information in this post-pandemic ‘war for talent', helping you to employ the talented people you need to deliver now, and to support a positive future. The awards shine a spotlight on those who demonstrate exceptional skill at employee engagement and empower their staff.

Those entering will benefit from the insight from our unique employee report, with the six highest achievers shortlisted for the Best Employer Catey 2022.

Entries close on 25 February and all employee surveys must be completed by 7 March for businesses to be considered for the top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality, which will be revealed at the People Summit.
