Free Staffing Summit today to offer practical people solutions
With staffing top of the agenda for every hospitality operator, The Caterer is holding a Staffing Summit to explore the options open to hospitality businesses to expand their people pipeline.
The free virtual summit, sponsored by Stint and in partnership with VisitEngland, will take place on the morning of 22 July. It will highlight how the industry can better promote the career options available in the sector and feature organisations that can assist in their search for new recruits.
UKHospitality public affairs director David Sheen will open the event outlining the association's 12-point employment plan to address the recruitment crisis and help change the narrative of jobs and careers in hospitality.
He will be followed by speakers including Ritz London executive chef John Williams, Royal Lancaster London general manager Sally Beck and Caroline Harrison, group human resources manager at Luxury Family Hotels.
They will describe the ways in which they are attracting new employees with creative recruitment methods, how to take advantage of the Kickstart Scheme and apprenticeship opportunities, and offering recognition and reward without breaking the bank.
The Caterer editor James Stagg said: "This half-day conference will be dedicated to equipping operators with the tools to attract new recruits and reveal ways to attract and keep staff in long-term, sustainable careers.
"We're bringing together operators who have developed creative solutions to future-proof their talent pipeline to share their expertise with the wider industry."
Topics will include:
- Ways to re-engage your workforce and plug the employee gaps
- How the industry can help restore confidence in the sector
- Case studies from creative businesses that are filling vacancies
- Why employee wellbeing will be vital post-pandemic
- How to stand out as an employer in a crowded market
