Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy to launch Tapas Revolution
Spanish chef Omar Allibhoy is set to open a new tapas restaurant at Westfield shopping centre in White City, west London, the first of a planned national chain.
Tapas Revolution will launch at Westfield on 22 November offering a menu of authentic Spanish tapas dishes. Located in the mezzanine level of Europe's largest shopping centre, it will comprise a 50-metre pewter bar with open ham cellar developed by Design LSM.
Allibhoy, who trained with Ferran Adrià at the iconic El Bulli restaurant in northern Spain and previously worked as head chef at El Pirata de Tapas in Notting Hill, will source his ingredients from small producers in Spain.
His aim is to educate the British public about authentic Spanish cuisine and he hopes to roll Tapas Revolution out as a concept nationwide although no specific expansion plans have been put in place.
"Everything at Tapas Revolution will be as authentic as if you were back in Spain," Allibhoy said.
