‘Half and half' hotel room launches at the Curtain

A ‘half and half' room has opened at the Curtain hotel; one half designed by a ‘minimalist' blogger and one half by Katy Perry's ‘maximalist' stylist.

The ‘So Extra So Chic suite' at the 120-bedroom hotel in London's Shoreditch has been designed by Johnny Wujek and Kaitlyn Ham and launched in collaboration with Hotels.com, the only booking platform by which the room can be booked. The room is available to book from £250 per night only until 29 October.

Wujek's ‘So Extra' side of the room features golden ornaments, monkey lamps and a luminescent mini bar, with clashing prints and layered colourful rugs.

Ham's ‘So Chic' minimalist side is described as "pared back" with a statement white leather lounge chair, line-drawing art, and a colour palette of muted tones and monochrome.

The room was inspired by a Hotels.com poll which found almost a third (32%) of British travellers stick to minimalist styles when it comes to their holiday wardrobe, and one in five (19%) would prefer opulent and luxurious hotels.

Liz Oakman, senior director and general manager EMEA, Hotels.com said: "At Hotels.com, we're all about trying new things, so with the So Extra So Chic suite, style-loving travellers out there can experience both ends of the minimal, maximal spectrum."
