Pierre Koffmann, Paul Ainsworth and Hrishikesh Desai headline Skills for Chefs Conference 2022

The 23rd Skills for Chefs Conference, taking place on 29-30 June in Sheffield, promises an impressive chef line-up.

The conference will commence with 'An Audience with Paul Ainsworth' followed by dinner at the Inox in Sheffield. David McKown, director of the conference, said: "This will be a fascinating insight into Paul's career and we will also spotlight the challenges that the industry faces in the future."

The second day of the conference at Sheffield College will see Hrishikesh Desai and Henrique Sá Pessoa take to the stage. Desai won the Roux Scholarship in 2009, staged at the French Laundry in California and is the executive head chef of the Michelin-starred Gilpin Hotel & Lake House in the Lake District.

Sá Pessoa, who is traveling from Portugal to present his culinary skills, is from the two-Michelin-starred Alma in Lisbon. This internationally renowned chef also operates restaurants in Amsterdam and Macu in China.

Masterclasses will also be delivered by Ross Sneddon, executive pastry chef at the Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh, and Chris Wheeler, executive chef at Stoke Park and ambassador chef for the Agriculture Horticulture Development Board.

The closing speaker will be chef Pierre Koffmann, chef-patron of the three-Michelin-starred La Tante Claire for 15 years.

The Skills for Chefs awards dinner will take place on 30 June and the winners of UK Young Restaurant Team of the Year will be crowned that evening.
