Scotsman Group takes on Glasgow's Òran Mór
Scotsman Group has announced an investment into Skerryvore, the company which owns and operates Òran Mór in Glasgow's West End.
The group confirmed Colin Beattie, who has owned the venue for the last 20 years, will continue working with the business as chairman of Skerryvore.
A statement from the group said: "We are no strangers to operating in the West End ourselves with Hillhead Bookclub, the Grosvenor Cinema & Café and the Bothy in Ruthven Lane, and we are very much looking forward to our involvement in this historic venue. In addition, we want to take a moment to say a warm welcome to the current Òran Mór team to the Scotsman Group family."
Formerly Kelvinside Parish Church, Òran Mór, Gaelic for ‘great melody of life' or ‘big song', is an arts entertainment venue with a Victorian bar and whisky bar, John Muir Room restaurant, brasserie, private dining room, live music venue, night club and auditorium.
The Scotsman Group operates venues including the Corinthian Club and Arta in Glasgow and Ghillie Dhu in Edinburgh, and six hotels in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, including the Scotsman hotel.
