RedCat buys four Knead Pub Group sites
Rooney Anand's RedCat Pub Company is continuing its acquisition spree and has snapped up four sites from the Knead Pub Group.
First reported by Propel, the sites are: Smith's of Bourne, Lincolnshire; the Jubilee Garage (pictured), Bourne, Lincolnshire; the Lord Nelson, Oakham, Rutland; and the Prince Rupert, Newark, Nottinghamshire.
The sale leaves Knead with the Crown hotel, Paten & Co and the Tobie Norris, all in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Speaking exclusively to The Caterer, Anand, executive chairman of RedCat, said: "We are delighted to bring these four fantastic pubs into the RedCat family. The RedCat team has been working flat out since we launched in February, and our highly flexible approach enables us to identify both larger-scale businesses and pub companies, as well as the best single-pub sites, that complement our portfolio.
"I'm a strong believer in the pubs sector and I hope that RedCat can play a role in helping it bounce back by partnering with talented entrepreneurs to give them the support, funds and oxygen they need to grow."
Just last week the group confirmed it was acquiring the 18-strong Coaching Inn Group and since launching has also bought 42 pubs across England and Wales from Stonegate Pub Company and the New Dungeon Ghyll pub hotel in the Lake District. RedCat is backed by funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management.
