Red Carnation Hotels' 100 Princes Street to open in spring 2024

Red Carnation Hotels has confirmed the launch of 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh has been pushed back to spring 2024.

The opening date for the hotel group's first Scottish property had been set for 1 November as of this summer.

In September 2021, Red Carnation Hotels said it would be launching the 30-bedroom 100 Princes Street, which resides in the former Royal Overseas League building, in April 2022.

The luxury hotel collection acquired the site, which was previously a private members' club, for an undisclosed sum in 2019 and said it would transform 100 Princes Street into an "exclusive retreat" in the style of the group's Hotel 41 in London.

100 Princes Street is being restored and designed by Toni Tollman, Philippe Bonino and Brian Brennan, the team behind Ashford Castle in Ireland and Xigera Safari Lodge in Botswana.

Statement features of the hotel include views of Edinburgh Castle from many of the rooms, a centrepiece wine wall with over 200 fine wines and whiskies, and a staircase with a hand-painted mural by Croxford and Saunders inspired by historic Scottish explorers.

Rates at 100 Princes Street will start from £330 for a luxury classic room on a bed and breakfast basis.

Red Carnation Hotels owns 18 properties across the globe, including in South Africa, Guernsey, London and Ireland.
