Rachel Khoo revealed as new Great British Menu judge

Broadcaster and cookbook author Rachel Khoo will be joining BBC Two's Great British Menu this spring as the competition's new judge.

Khoo, the TV chef behind BBC series Little Paris Kitchen, graduated with a diploma in pastry from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and worked at La Cocotte, a Parisian culinary bookstore and tea salon, catering for culinary book launches and hosting cookery classes.

Her appointment comes as Andi Oliver reprises her role of presenter for a second series. Oliver, who was a judge on Great British Menu for four series, left her seat at the judging table to present the show's festive special in December and will continue this role in series 16, which starts in March. Khoo will join long-standing judges Matthew Fort and Oliver Peyton.

She said: "I am delighted to be taking on the role of judge at the Great British Menu! We have some extraordinary chefs in the UK and the programme does a great job of showcasing that homegrown talent. I'm so proud to be part of the series and I can't wait for viewers to see what's in store."

The next series will mark 2021 as the 30th anniversary of Sir Tim Berners-Lee donating the world wide web to the world, as well as Helen Sharman becoming the first British astronaut to go into space, and will celebrate British innovation.
