PPHE plans second Waterloo hotel

PPHE Hotel Group has acquired the freehold interest in a site located in London's SE1 with plans to develop it into a hotel.

Details are scarce but the hospitality group which owns, co‐owns and develops hotels and resorts has acquired a site near its existing Park Plaza London Waterloo hotel (pictured) for £12m and is due to seek planning permission from the local authorities.

PPHE Hotel Group is one of the largest owner/operators of hotels in central London and its property portfolio comprises 38 hotels and resorts in operation, including approximately 8,800 rooms. It has nine Park Plaza-branded hotels across London, Leeds, Cardiff and Nottingham.

The group's development pipeline includes two new London Art'otels in Battersea and Hoxton, with the latter set to open in 2023.
