Pizzaluxe to open second Manchester site after £1.5m investment
Pizzaluxe is to open its third restaurant this summer in the Manchester Arndale shopping centre as part of ambitious expansion plans having secured £1.5m of equity investment.
The funding from Edition Capital will enable the super-thin, super-fast pizza concept to open in Halle Place, Manchester Arndale followed by with a second Leeds opening at The Light, as well as a refurbishment of the original Trinity Kitchen unit in Leeds.
Founder Paul Goodale has secured a 10-year lease on a 2,000 sq ft location in a corner plot, from which the business will offer deluxe pizzas such as chorizo with goats' cheese and roasted honey as well as breakfast pizzas, artisan coffee, cocktails, soft drinks and desserts.
PizzaLuxe was started as market stall in London's Brick Lane and opened its first bricks and mortar site in Leeds in 2013. It also operates a site in Manchester Airport with franchise partner SSP.
Goodale said: "We have worked very hard over the past few years to develop a clearly differentiated food and service proposition in what is both a crowded and challenging market. I am very proud of the food and drink that we serve, the excellent customer feedback that we receive and the teams that make this possible. Thanks to Edition's support, we are now well placed to take PizzaLuxe forward to its next stage of growth."
Edition Capital partner Harry Heartfield added: "Edition are delighted to have invested in such an innovative operator. We were immediately impressed by Paul's vision and the unique business model behind the brand. We are excited to bring our experience and support to help grow the PizzaLuxe brand across the UK."
