Pizza Pilgrims to launch retail deli concept
Pizza Pilgrims is to launch a new deli concept selling Italian produce and dry store goods alongside its 20th UK restaurant.
The group will open a pizzeria in London's Queen's Park on 3 July with a retail area selling ingredients used throughout the menu. This will include the house-made ‘La Bomba' chilli oil and Buffalo mozzarella from Italian supplier Latteria Sorrentina.
The 50-cover restaurant will be decorated with reclaimed furniture and feature an open plan kitchen with a dedicated ‘dough window' where passers-by can watch the chefs at work.
Monthly guest pizzas will feature on the menu alongside staples such as the Double Pepperoni and Spicy Honey with Mushroom and Truffle.
Pizza Pilgrims' co-founder James Elliot said: "The new restaurant is a beautiful building and we've already found the area be the kind of place where neighbours unthinkingly introduce themselves and welcome you.
"We will also be introducing a new ‘deli' concept where people can purchase amazing Italian ingredients to take away."
Pizza Pilgrims was founded by brothers James and his brother Thom Elliot as a street food stall at London's Berwick Street Market in 2011. Its first permanent site opened in Soho in 2013 and the group now runs restaurants across London and in Brighton, Nottingham, Oxford, and Cambridge.
