Former English rugby player's craft brewery announces partnership with Fourpure Brewery
Former English rugby union player Greg Bateman's craft beer brand People's Captain has today announced a new partnership with southeast London's Fourpure Brewery.
The partnership will see Fourpure's parent group, In Good Company (ICG), take on the production and assist in wider distribution of People's Captain products.
People's Captain is primarily brewed in Hove, East Sussex, and counts Punch Pubs among its current customers. Money from each People's Captain products sales goes towards its People's Captain Foundation, which aims to raise money and awareness for mental health initiatives across the UK.
It is hoped the collaboration with Fourpure Brewery, which is based in Bermondsey, will open People's Captain to greater distribution networks and gain a base in the Bermondsey Beer Mile, a loose amalgamation of brewery bars and bottle shops located along a stretch of railway arches.
The relationship between the two beer brands was established last year when the brewers hosted an event at the Fourpure Taproom to celebrate The People's Captain Awards 2023, which saw the creation of a collaborative beer, Steadfast IPA, which was launched on draught at the takeover.
Bateman said: "We're really excited about what this partnership with IGC can do to further our mission. We feel in really safe hands with Steve and team to really kick on and make more social moments count. We're also very proud to be among the portfolio being assembled, which has an array of unique strengths."
Steve Cox, CEO of In Good Company, added: "It's brilliant to see the partnership between our two brands take the next step, as we join forces more formally. We have a lot of shared values and I'm excited for what's next."
