Ottolenghi group to expand catering arm amid rise in demand

Ottolenghi group has revealed plans to recruit a new catering manager to expand its catering business "across both B2C and B2B" customers within Greater London.

It currently offers event catering services for weddings, birthdays, and dinner parties, with the number of guests ranging from small gatherings to 150 people.

Typical dishes include mezze spreads with black garlic potatoes, asparagus, pickled shallots and dukkah; roasted aubergine with feta cream, za'atar cherry tomatoes and oregano; and mains such as roasted tomato quiche with spinach, goat's cheese, and caramelised onion.

A spokesperson for Ottolenghi group said it also has a number of businesses who order from the group on a "weekly basis to provide lunches for teams and client meetings".

It is understood that this is something the group will be expanding in the future amid the return of workers to offices.

The spokesperson added: "We expect [demand for catering during] Thanksgiving and Christmas 2023 to be bigger than ever before, flowing into 2024."

Chef Yotam Ottolenghi opened his first café in London's Notting Hill in 2002 and has since grown the business to seven London restaurants.
