Nozomi eyes return to London after three years
Japanese restaurant concept Nozomi is planning a return to London having closed its Knightsbridge site three years ago, and is seeking a new site in Mayfair.
The new London venture follows owner Cavadore signing a memorandum of understanding for a partnership with a Middle Eastern investment group for the financing of the new restaurant, as well as other new international franchises, with plans for a "triumphant re-entry to the London restaurant scene".
Cavadore is seeking premises suitable for a 10,000m sq Nozomi-branded fine-dining restaurant and bar, with an ambition to open in the third quarter of 2020. The group's Knightsbridge restaurant closed in July 2016 after 14 years as the operators were "unable to agree acceptable terms for a new lease for the premises", according to Cavadore operations director Richard Mackay.
Mackay said: "Cavadore Limited is a renowned international operator and will leverage our expertise and experience in launching the Nozomi brand back into London. Following our short absence from the London scene, we remain confident of successfully reaching out to our friends and clients developed over the years."
Nozomi currently has several franchised restaurants operating in the Middle East.
