Now Pause launches to support hospitality mental health
A new industry initiative has launched to support the mental health of hospitality workers experiencing stress and anxiety as a result of the coronavirus crisis.
Now Pause was launched this week by Craig Prentice, founder of hospitality recruitment agency Mum, and marketer Peter Kerwood.
"Today, more than ever, we need to find time to pause," said Prentice. "Now Pause helps us to do just that – pause and reset."
Available support includes a free self-care toolkit and podcasts designed by wellbeing coach Andrew Johnson to help stay positive and live less stressfully.
"I'm delighted to play a part in this much needed project," said Johnson. "In these strange days, we all need a little more grounding, relaxation and better sleep. I'm very happy that my recordings will be helping people with this."
The initiative has been backed by The Caterer, Hospitality Action, Umbrella Training, Caterer.com and UK Hospitality.
Jo Simovic, chief operating officer at Umbrella Training, said: "Good mental health is so important. This initiative is just what the hospitality industry needs at this stressful time. We wholeheartedly support it."
