Permission granted for 154 bedroom Motto by Hilton hotel in Manchester
Planning permission for a 20-storey, 154-bedroom hotel in Manchester's Laystall Street has been approved.
The hotel will operate under the Motto by Hilton brand, which will make its UK debut with a Glasgow opening in 2024.
Motto by Hilton is described as an "urban, lifestyle brand" featuring connecting rooms that can be used as doubles, or bunk beds or to form a living space by day with a fold down bed to target larger family groups.
The Manchester hotel will feature a ground level café/bar/restaurant and gym. The design incorporates 10 accessible hotel rooms.
Planning documents state the hotel will support 85,000 visitors a year, with an anticipated economic boost of £7.2m as well as creating 108 jobs in the city.
The development of the hotel will be led by Ancoats Manchester.
Planning permission was granted by Manchester City Council yesterday (Thursday 1 June).
