Around 50 youths storm Nottingham McDonald's and 'steal food and drinks'
Police are pursuing a group of 50 young people who stormed a McDonald's branch in Nottingham where they jumped over the counter and stole food and soft drinks.
The group piled into the Clumber Street site at about 9pm on Sunday 21 August, when about seven people jumped over the counter while others filmed them in images that have since been posted to social media.
About 20 members of the group remained in the restaurant after others left and were threatening and abusive towards staff.
By the time police arrived on the scene the group, who are believed to be between 14-years-old and 16-years-old, had dispersed. They were largely dressed in tracksuits, hats and caps.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: "We are treating this incident very seriously. This is a commercial burglary as the group forced their way behind the counter of a business and stole food and soft drinks.
"It is completely unacceptable. No arrests have been made yet, but we will be working with the Clumber Street McDonald's and carrying out CCTV inquiries to find those responsible."
