Marriott to rebrand M by Montcalm as Montcalm East
Marriott International is rebranding its M by Montcalm hotel in London's Shoreditch as Montcalm East, which will operate under its Autograph Collection.
Depending on coronavirus restrictions, the 288-bedroom hotel aims to relaunch in March.
The restaurant space, formerly operated by Arnaud Stevens' Plate catering business, will relaunch with a new all-day informal dining concept from Barworks called Moor & Mead, nodding to its proximity to Moorfields Eye Hospital and the area's historic breweries.
Meanwhile, Shoreditch-based design studio Blacksheep has given the hotel's interior design an overhaul with geometric shapes, muted colour tones, pops of colour and bespoke artwork inspired by Shoreditch's street art posters.
Montcalm East has also commissioned Culture A for a selection of artwork with a focus on local and emerging talent, while a partnership with Proud Galleries will see the mezzanine level adorned with works by pop culture photographers.
Opening rates at the hotel will start from £199 on a B&B basis, including VAT.
