Marco Pierre White's Chophouse brand to open in Manchester Hotel
Marco Pierre White is to open a Chophouse in Manchester's Velvet hotel in April.
The opening of Mr White's English Chophouse follows an agreement between Black & White Hospitality, which owns the franchise rights to five of White's restaurant brands, and the hotel's management company, KRO Hospitality.
The Manchester Chophouse will specialise in steaks, grills and chops.
The brand's latest opening will be the second in the UK following a restaurant in the Black & White Hospitality-operated New Road hotel in Whitechapel, London, with plans to roll the concept out further in the next two years.
Nick Taplin, chief executive and owner of Black & White Hospitality, said: "Mr White's English Chophouse is sure to be a hit with diners and we'll be looking to increase the number of venues over the coming 12 months.
"A lot has changed in the past few years and the demand for authentic, simple dishes has become increasingly popular. This is a trend we believe is here to stay. This concept is designed to offer a fresh alternative, where authentic, uncomplicated food served promptly is absolutely essential."
Commenting on the new restaurant, Pierre White said: "What's appealing about the Chophouse is its simplicity. The menu is very simple and the whole idea is to be generous with the portions and to make things affordable.
"Another reason behind Mr White's Chophouse is to revive what is a distinctively British idea, so it's great to see it coming to fruition."
