Luke Selby joins brothers to launch pirate-inspired Seychelles residency

Chef Luke Selby is set to take up a residency at Hilton Seychelles inspired by piracy in his first move since announcing his departure from London's Hide.

Selby, winner of the National Chef of the Year, the Roux Scholarship and the latest season of Great British Menu, will join brothers Nathaniel and Theo on the island to create five dining experiences for hotel guests and locals, dubbed ‘A Treasure Trail of Taste'.

The brothers will be the first of a series of high-profile chefs from around the world who will take on the brief of creating gastronomic events inspired by 17th-century pirate Olivier Levasseur, who is believed to have hidden one of the biggest treasures in pirate history in the Seychelles. The brothers will be operating on the island from 7-19 June.

Luke said: "Nathaniel, Theo and I are greatly looking forward to our time at Hilton Seychelles and are very excited to be the first international chefs to take part in ‘A Treasure Trail of Taste'.

"We look forward to discovering what looks to be a magical place, and hoping our food and menus will sprinkle even more magical dust over these incredible properties."

The event, part of Hilton's celebrations following 100 years of business, will also incorporate training for the Seychelles Tourism Academy, with a select group of students shadowing the brothers over their residency.
