Lorraine Jarvie appointed general manager of the Royal Crescent hotel

Lorraine Jarvie has been appointed general manager of the five-red-AA-starred, 45-bedroom Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa in Bath.

She previously worked as general manager of the Macdonald Bath Spa hotel and regional operations director at Hotel Du Vin, and replaces Ben Danielsen, who left the Royal Crescent earlier this year to take up the same role at Cameron House on Loch Lomond.

Jarvie said: "I am absolutely delighted to be joining an iconic hotel that I have admired professionally and personally. Their reputation for unforgettable guest experiences, staff development and five-star premium offerings within beautiful premises is inimitable. I look forward to leading a wonderful team in a fresh direction while upholding the hotel's five-red-star reputation."

Mark Kingston, managing director of owner Topland, said: "We are delighted to welcome Lorraine to the team at the Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa. We are extremely proud to have elevated the hotel to its iconic status in luxury hospitality to date and look forward to working with Lorraine's aligned vision for the hotel. With her combined passion and experience, we will continue to deliver an unrivalled service with a dedicated team, offering unforgettable experiences for our loyal guests."

The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa is a member of Pride of Britain Hotels and is situated in the 250-year-old, Grade I-listed Royal Crescent in Bath. Topland bought the property in 2012 following the collapse of Von Essen and two years later gave it a multimillion-pound refurbishment.
