First look: London Hilton on Park Lane to undergo major refurbishment

The London Hilton on Park Lane has revealed images of how its ongoing multi-million-pound redesign will transform the hotel.

The 454-room Mayfair property, which was the first Hilton hotel to open in the UK, is undergoing a complete renovation as it prepares to celebrate its 60th anniversary in September 2023.

It will include the first refurbishment of its Grand Ballroom since it was opened by founder Conrad Hilton in 1963.

The property was the largest hotel in Europe at the time, standing at 383 ft high, and now hosts over 20,000 guests a year.

The redesign will create a new lobby layout with seating and a bar which will serve classic cocktails based on the hotel's heritage.

Guest rooms and suites will be designed to make the most of the hotel's panoramic views across London and Hyde Park and feature low slung furniture in a nod to the 1960's.

The ground floor restaurant will also be relaunched to offer a modern British menu with a green and bronze colour scheme to reflect the hotel's position on the edge of London's' Royal Parks.

The hotel will remain open throughout the renovation, which will be undertaken in stages to minimise disruption to guests.

It is expected to be completed in July but a celebration will be held in September to mark the hotel's 60th anniversary.

London Hilton on Park Lane has contracted G.A. Design International to bring its new design to life.
