Come Together: virtual 'Hospitality Aid' concert open for auditions
Chris Fletcher and Kieron Bailey of EXP101 are inviting hospitality workers to audition for a live, virtual concert to raise money for the Action Against Hunger charity.
The pair, whose backgrounds include brands such as Hard Rock International, Wagamama, Pieminister and Carluccio's, together founded digital platform EXP101.
They are now looking for hospitality brands and workers to take part in the concert called ‘Come Together', a 12-hour global live music event streamed online on 31 August.
Artists can submit their audition here of a five-minute video clip or link to content showcasing their talent – this could be singing, playing an instrument, dancing or even spoken word. Up to 50 acts will then be selected to perform as part of the line-up. The deadline for auditions is 1 August.
Artists taking part will receive their own unique URL, allowing viewers to digitally tip them on the day. Half of these funds will go directly to the artist, and the other 50% will go to Action Against Hunger.
The founders said: "We want to bring some positivity back to our amazing hospitality teams by giving them something to look forward to. For one day, we will unite our industry around the world as we encourage performers to sing and play, and inspire our viewers to give.
"We wanted a cause that would resonate with a global audience. The crisis we are currently facing won't end when a vaccine is created, it will continue to affect generations to come and we need to recognise that and support the people who are going to need it most."
