Treehouse London
The Saint Georges hotel in London's Langham Place has been relaunched as the first property in US private investment company Starwood Capital Group's new Treehouse hotel brand, in collaboration with Cairn Group.
The hotel features Madera, a sister restaurant to fine-dining Mexican restaurant Toca Madera in Los Angeles; the Nest rooftop bar, with its own swing set; and Backyard, a coffee and wine bar on the ground floor with exposed wood and branches. Guest rooms feature cuckoo clocks and sleeping bag throws.
The hotel also has a robust composting and recycling programme and is committed to reducing single-use plastics throughout all its operations. Every guest room is outfitted with organic cotton sheets as well as locally sourced bath products.

Silo
Doug McMaster's zero-waste restaurant concept Silo has opened at the White Building in London's Hackney Wick. The restaurant is open for dinner and brunch on weekends, serving a continually changing menu of 10-15 dishes, with an interior focusing on sustainable design.

Bleecker Westfield
Burger brand Bleecker has opened its fourth and largest restaurant at Westfield London in White City. The new site is located in the shopping centre's first-floor dining space and will offer a menu of six burgers, regular and sweet potato fries, and a selection of milkshakes, sodas and beers.

Sabroso
Sabroso (named after the Spanish word for ‘tasty'), the latest restaurant from Lima London's founders, has opened in London's Westfield White City shopping centre. The Venezuelan casual-dining concept focuses on arepas: disc-shaped stuffed cornbreads.

Sarto
Sarto pasta, a joint project between Laynes Espresso and the Brunswick pub, has opened a permanent site in Leeds' Munro House. The site is located in an ex-fabric warehouse (‘sarto' means ‘tailor' in Italian), and will offer drinks from local companies.

American-Italian restaurant Smoke & Dough has opened its first UK site at the Liverpool One shopping centre. The barbecue concept offers meats grilled to order at lava coal pits at each table.

The Hovingham Inn
Richard and Lindsey Johns, formerly of Rascills and Artisan in Yorkshire, have relaunched the former Malt Shovel pub as the Hovingham Inn. The newly refurbished restaurant's kitchen is overseen by Richard, who has created a menu of classics with a twist using seasonal, local ingredients, and a wine list curated by Lindsey.
