Kincraig Castle sold to Siya Properties
Kincraig Castle hotel in Invergordon, Ross and Cromarty, has been sold to Ruchir Gupta of Siya Properties.
The price was not disclosed but offers were invited for around £1.8m for the 15-bedroom property.
Ray and Amy Grant, who have owned the hotel for the past nine years, have sold it to Gupta's Siya Properties, which also owns the Falcon hotel in Farnborough. Kincraig Castle is the group's first Scottish asset and a spokesperson said Gupta was "keen to add other similar-styled hotels to his portfolio".
Kincraig Castle has a residents' lounge and reading room, Alexander restaurant, Mackenzie function suite, snug bar and a commercial kitchen. Outside there are steading and stable blocks.
Peter Seymour, a director within the hotel and leisure department with Graham + Sibbald, the property firm which oversaw the sale, said: "We launched this campaign a few months before Covid reached the UK. The campaign was affected by the lockdowns and buyers' inability to travel, but we constantly had worldwide interest in the disposal and achieved a price in line with our pre-Covid expectations. We are delighted that an experienced operator saw the potential of the hotel and we wish Mr Gupta every success in the future."
