Kesgrave Hall in Suffolk to double in size to 50 bedrooms
Kesgrave Hall, the 23-bedroom hotel in Suffolk owned and operated by Milsom Hotels & Restaurants, is set to more than double in size to 50 bedrooms.
A planning application has been lodged with East Suffolk Council for a new building comprising 27 bedrooms, separate from the existing Grade II-listed, 23-bedroom hotel, which is located in 40 acres of grounds just outside Ipswich.
If permission is granted, the multimillion-pound project is expected to take around 12 months to complete, with an opening date some time in 2021.
The addition of the bedrooms to Kesgrave Hall follows the launch in March 2020 of a new £1.7m day spa at the hotel, comprising five double treatment rooms, a food and beverage space for light lunches, and an outdoor spa area with fireplace, sundeck and hot tub.
Paul Milsom, managing director of Milsom Hotels & Restaurants, said that Kesgrave Hall, which the company opened in 2008, has shown year-on-year growth over the past 12 years, resulting in demand for the extra bedrooms.
"East Anglia is not blessed with a huge number of luxury country hotels, but Kesgrave Hall has built a name for itself in offering modern and relaxed food and beverage in a relaxed, buzzing setting," explained Milsom. "We will now add the bedrooms to support that."
Kesgrave Hall is one of five properties owned and operated by Milsom Hotels & Restaurants, alongside Le Talbooth, Maison Talbooth and Milsoms in Dedham, Essex, and the Pier in Harwich, Suffolk.
