José Pizarro unveils details of forthcoming flagship restaurant Pizarro
Spanish chef José Pizarro has unveiled details of his forthcoming restaurant, Pizarro, which will open this autumn.
Located on Bermondsey Street near London Bridge, the new restaurant will be located just 200m away from Pizarro's sherry and tapas bar José on the former site of Bermondsey Kitchen.
The 40-seat restaurant, which will open at the end of October, will feature booths and a private dining room for up to 12 diners, as well as a bar and communal table at the front of the restaurant where drinks and a bar menu, including a wide range of cava, will be served.
The main restaurant will offer a menu of larger dishes of Spanish food including lobster caldereta, partridge escabeche, walnut, chanterelles, blue cheese and watercress tart, and rack of lamb with black olives and potatoes.
Commenting on the launch Pizarro, who was previously executive chef at Brindisa, said: "Opening José was the first part of my dream realised. It's been so exciting and I'm already so proud. But I want to show people that there is more to Spanish food than just tapas.
"When I get together with my friends and family in Spain a quick lunch often turns into something which lasts for hours. This is what I want to encourage people to come and experience at Pizarro."
