James Stagg named editor of The Caterer
James Stagg has been appointed editor of The Caterer.
Stagg steps up from the role of deputy editor, replacing Chris Gamm, who is leaving to take on the position of chief executive at industry charity Springboard.
Having been with the title since 2010, joining as content editor before being made deputy editor, Stagg has in-depth knowledge of the industry and has played a significant role in developing The Caterer's conferences and supplements.
He will now have increased responsibilities to continue to improve the title's digital output, while maintaining its status as the leading weekly hospitality publication. He will also head up the extensive events programme that recognises outstanding businesses and talents in the industry.
Stagg said: "I am thrilled to be taking on the prestigious role of editor of The Caterer at such a vital time for the hospitality industry.
"We have seen during the past six months what an important part the magazine has played informing operators as they face incredible challenges and I look forward to working with the sector to provide the news, advice and data that will assist businesses as they return to growth.
"The Caterer has long been a cherished and trusted source and I am excited to be able to play an even more significant role in the next stage of its evolution."
Stuart Parish, UK managing director at The Caterer's parent company, Jacobs Media Group, added: "James has a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry, so we are delighted that he is taking on the role of editor. I look forward to working with him and The Caterer team as the hospitality industry's leading news source enters a new chapter in its evolution."
