Institute of Hospitality wins Diversity and Inclusion Initiative award

The launch of a Youth Council and Diversity Shield campaign helped the Institute of Hospitality (IoH) carry off the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year 2021 at the UK & Ireland Chartered Governance Institute awards.

Robert Richardson, chief executive of IoH, and Kim Bailey, IoH head of marketing (pictured), received the award at a presentation ceremony last night at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

The Youth Council was set up to provide advice for young professionals at the start of their careers, while the Diversity Shield was created to raise funds to help develop the hospitality industry's future talent whose financial circumstances stopped them from joining the IoH.

Richardson said the launch of the two initiatives marked "a significant milestone" in the IoH's history.

"I am delighted that this award further establishes the IoH as an inclusive, diverse and progressive, educational charity," he said.
