Hyatt Centric brand debuts in UK with Cambridge opening
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has brought its Hyatt Centric brand to the UK with a new 150-bedroom hotel in Cambridge.
Hyatt's tenth hotel in the UK in total, the property is located within the new sustainable neighbourhood of Eddington developed by the University of Cambridge. Set around a central courtyard, the hotel's architecture has been designed by dRMM, with interiors by AvroKO, reflecting the city's history.
The Centric brand is made up of full-service lifestyle hotels in prime destinations, designed for "exploration and discovery".
The bedrooms mix "understated grandeur with art deco touches" while the co-working area has free Wi-Fi and two meeting rooms.
The venue has four dining options, including the KOTA coffee shop and restaurant, the latter of which is inspired by Finnish charcoal cooking and community dining; the Dutch cocktail bar which also serves cheese and meat platters; and a seasonal roof terrace offering botanical cocktails and local craft beers.
The roof terrace will cater for larger events, hosting up to 150 guests, and the hotel also includes a fitness centre.
Martin Newbould, general manager of the Hyatt Centric Cambridge, said: "We are thrilled to open the doors of Hyatt Centric Cambridge. Cambridge is one of the most iconic cities in the UK thanks to its magnificent architecture, university buildings and historic center.
"The hotel's location allows curious guests to make the most of what the destination has to offer. We are excited for our guests to enjoy the hotel's array of facilities including our distinct bar, restaurant and coffee shop, which offer savvy travelers shareworthy experiences."
Hyatt Hotels Corporation, headquartered in Chicago, has more than 1,000 properties in 68 countries across 20 brands, including Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Andaz, the Unbound Collection, Hyatt Regency and Hyatt Place.
