Honest Burgers to launch vegan burger concept
The team behind Honest Burgers are to launch a vegan burger concept in London's Covent Garden in January.
Named V Honest, the restaurant will serve plant-based burgers from 17 Garrick Street and operate from delivery kitchens across London.
It has been launched in response to a rising demand for plant-based dishes at Honest Burgers' restaurants.
V Honest's menu will include vegan versions of the brand's ‘Honest' and ‘Tribute' (pictured) burgers, as well as new dishes ‘the Buffalo', ‘the Pesto', ‘the Teriyaki' and ‘the Chilli'. These will be joined by limited edition specials and collaborations with suppliers, chefs and traders, starting in early 2022.
Each burger will be served with the group's signature rosemary salted chips, as well as three vegan, gluten-free sides including coleslaw; buffalo tenders; and pulled shiitake nuggets.
Tom Barton, co-founder of Honest Burgers, said: "Since we launched our first vegan and flexitarian burgers at Honest back in 2018, we've seen them go from strength to strength. But we just don't have space in our Honest Burgers kitchens to put more plant based burgers on the menu so we felt the best thing to do was to give them a home of their own.
"V Honest is that home and it gives us the chance to spend even more time developing brand new burgers, collaborations and showcasing some of the best vegan food in the country."
Honest Burgers was founded by Barton and Philip Eeles in Brighton in 2009 and now runs over 40 restaurants in locations including London, Bristol and Liverpool.
It opened its own south London butchery in 2017 where it makes its own patties, rather than buying them from a butcher.
