Highbullen hotel, golf and country club offered for sale for £5m
The 39-bedroom Highbullen hotel, golf and country club near Tiverton, Devon, has been put on the market with a £5m price tag.
Located within an 127-acre estate, the hotel is being sold by Frank Chapman with planning permission for a 16-bedroom extension and 58 standalone holiday home lodges.
The hotel features two restaurants and a Laura Ashley tearoom, as well as capacity for up to 400 guests in the main function room. There are also extensive leisure facilities including an 18-hole golf course, outdoor tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a spa and gym.
David Tearle, resort director at Highbullen, said: "We are extremely proud of Highbullen's achievements during the Chapman family's tenure, from the incredible feedback we continue to receive from our many guests to our numerous accolades and awards.
"We are grateful to our team who have worked so hard and with such passion to provide the best level of service to our customers and we are incredibly proud of the work we started in creating one of the foremost resorts in Devon."
The sale of the hotel is being jointly handled by Christie & Co and Savills.
Stephen Champion, director at Christie & Co, said Highbullen offered a new owner with extensive opportunities to develop the hotel. "Hotels with this scope and potential rarely come to the market and we expect to see high levels of interest from a range of buyers including hotel groups, high net worth individuals, foreign buyers or developers looking at the planning permission in place."
