GuestHouse to open No 42 in Margate in spring 2023
Boutique hotel group GuestHouse will open its third property, No 42 in Margate, in spring 2023.
The group, founded by brothers James, Tristan and Tom Guest, acquired the former Sands hotel earlier this year.
The Victorian beachfront property will open with 21 bedrooms, a restaurant, rooftop and spa.
The space will be designed to playfully draw from the motifs of the seaside town, with a palette of chalky whites, moody greens and golden yellow tones contrasted with hints of pink and red.
Texture and movement associated with the sea will feature in the furniture, fixtures, and surface finishes, which will be created with the help of local makers and artists.
GuestHouse launched with the reopening of No 15 Great Pulteney in Bath last year, which the brothers bought from Ian and Christa Taylor in 2019.
This was followed by No 1 Clifton, a Grade II-listed Regency townhouse in York, while a Brighton outpost is expected to open in late 2023 at No 124 Kingsroad, a neoclassical, Georgian-style building on the seafront.
