Green & Fortune wins £15m hospitality contract for Central Hall Westminster
Green & Fortune has secured a £15m contract to provide all retail and catering services for Central Hall Westminster (CHW), central London's largest conferencing and events venue.
The five-year contract begins 1 March and encompasses all corporate events across its 25 spaces including the 2,300 seat Great Hall, 150 seat on-site café, and street café opposite Westminster Abbey. The caterer has said it has plans to innovate the food offering and enhance the service.
CHW will be the third major venue to join Green & Fortune's portfolio of managed clients alongside King's Place, overlooking Regent's Canal in King's Cross, and Sea Containers on London's South Bank.
Green & Fortune was named Boutique Caterer of the Year at the Foodservice Catey Awards 2019 while its chef director Jason Wild won the Chef of the Year.
Chief executive John Nugent said: "We have been measured and selective both with our growth plans and our working partners since our launch in 2008. Alongside Central Hall Westminster we have ambitious plans to develop the product and the business over the coming years, whilst still retaining the solid ethos of both organisations.
"The venue's focus on sustainability mirrors our own and we will be working to further enhance this between the teams. The Green & Fortune team are looking forward to innovating the food offer and enhancing service styles at this world-renowned venue."
CHW is a Grade-II listed Edwardian building and has hosted events since its opening in 1912. It serves as a Methodist church to a culturally diverse congregation and is adjacent to Westminster Abbey.
CHW managing director Paul Southern said: "As a not-for-profit organisation which exists to maintain our historic building and support many charitable causes, it was important that we found a catering company which fits in with our values.
"Sustainability is also at the heart of everything we do and as winners of the Green Tourism Gold Award for two years running, we needed to ensure our catering partner could help us build further on our green reputation. We are delighted to begin working with a company which shares our values and uses suppliers or services dedicated to reduce the impact on the environment as this will be key in the next five years."
Green & Fortune was founded in 2008. It reported that revenues to March 2020 will exceed £13m and featured on the AlixPartners Food Service Growth Report, 2019.
