Inn Collection Group buys the Glenridding Hotel
The Glenridding Hotel in the Lake District National Park has been sold to the Inn Collection Group for an undisclosed sum.
The property, which has been owned by Hassan Ali and his family since 2007, features lounges, bars, restaurants, a nine-meter heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and games room.
It was famously used as a base by Donald Campbell when he broke the 200mph world water speed record on nearby Ullswater Lake in 1955.
Martin Davis, director with Graham + Sibbald who handled the sale on behalf of Ali, said: "Despite the fact that the hotel was marketed by way of a confidential off market campaign, we were able to generate a high level of interest in the Glenridding Hotel for our clients which demonstrates that the appetite and demand for good quality well located hotels continues.
"We are pleased to have achieved a good result for both our clients the Ali family as well as the purchasers, the Inn Collection Group who have secured yet another hotel to add to their expanding portfolio."
The Inn Collection Group was founded in 2006 and owns around 26 sites. The expanding company also acquired the Dower House hotel in Knaresborough in December.
