Entries for Gérard Basset Foundation grantee programme close this week
Community organisations in the hospitality industry have until 30 September to apply for the Gérard Basset Foundation grantee programme.
The foundation was founded by Lewis Chester, Nina Basset, Romané Basset, Ian Harris and Jancis Robinson to honour the legacy and memory of master sommelier Gérard Basset, who died in January 2019.
The grantee programme is open to applicants from across the globe who share the goal of improving diversity in the wine, spirits and hospitality sectors.
Previous recipients have ranged from universities to grassroots community-focused organisations.
In 2022, Be Inclusive Hospitality was one of the 14 groups to be awarded with a share of the £1.2m grant.
Applicants for the current round of the programme will be asked to fill in a form detailing the aims of their project, as well as how much funding they are hoping to receive.
A spokesperson for the foundation said: "We wish to empower amazing institutions and communities the world over working to make the wine, spirits and hospitality sectors fairer, more inclusive, more diverse and more equitable."
