Manchester's Forty-Seven hotel to open this summer

Manchester's luxury Forty-Seven hotel is set to open this summer, two years later than planned.

The hotel, owned by KRO Hospitality, is set to open within the Grade-II listed Lancashire House, a former shipping warehouse located at 47 Peter Street.

The property will be led by general manager, Ryan Thompson, who said that the focus in his new role will be to "deliver intelligent luxury for those who appreciate both statement and style while they eat, sleep, drink and enjoy time in the heart of the city".

He previously worked as house manager at the city's Hotel Gotham; head of guest experience at Cottons hotel in Knutsford, Cheshire; and commercial manager for Edwardian Hotels London.

The hotel will have 32 bedrooms, including a range of duplex and signature suites, and will be home to the Peterman bar, while Asha's restaurant downstairs is also set to re-open this summer.

Kro Hospitality's other city centre venue, Velvet hotel, bar and brasserie, is also undergoing an extension to create an additional 18 bedrooms.

Kim Eivind Krohn, owner of KRO Hospitality, said: "We're delighted to announce the latest update on our recent venture to create a new, exciting and extravagant hotel in the heart of Manchester's vibrant Peter Street, which is home to popular venues including our very own Asha's Restaurant, which will be reopening in our new hotel, ‘Forty-Seven'".

KRO acquired the freehold of 47 Peter Street in August 2018.
