ESS wins three-year contract with Metropolitan Police
ESS, the defence, energy and government services arm of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has secured a three-year catering and hospitality contract with the Metropolitan Police for an undisclosed sum.
ESS will provide services for staff and officers across the Met estate, including the Hendon training centre, custody suites, stations, office facilities and the headquarters buildings.
It will also deliver planned and emergency operational feeding across London that will be supported by the ESS App, which will enable pre-ordering, cashless payment and click and collect.
ESS will launch a new ‘Social by ESS' brand as part of the partnership, in which a range of offers, such as high street-style concepts and pop-ups by 23 micro-markets and local London suppliers, will be integrated into the company's services to aid catering in smaller stations.
ESS Government Services already has several clients in this sector, including the Ministry of Defence, the Department of Work & Pensions, the Department of Health, the Welsh Government, City of London Police, Hertfordshire Police and Metropolitan Police Training Centre.
As part of the new contract, ESS will bolster its team with 47 transferring employees.
Ronnie Kelman, managing director of ESS energy, government and infrastructure, said: "We're delighted to have been awarded the Metropolitan Police catering and hospitality services contract to support the force's officers and staff. We're proud to be working with the Met and we're looking forward to delivering the contract."
