ESS secures Port of Felixstowe catering contract

The defence, marine and aerospace sector of ESS, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, has won a six-year catering contract with the Port of Felixstowe for an undisclosed sum.

ESS will be responsible for a full refurbishment of the dining facilities at the UK's largest container port, which will involve a redesign of two catering outlets on site as well as the introduction of a click and collect service.

The port's 2,500 employees and hauliers will have access to all-day dining options and high-street style concepts with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. Staff will also undergo ESS's customer training programme.

Bob Gray, managing director of ESS defence, marine and aerospace, said: "We're excited to be working with the Port of Felixstowe to enhance the catering provision for its employees and tenants. Our team has been busy drawing up plans for an extensive refurbishment project which will commence shortly after the contract goes live. This will deliver attractive restaurant spaces coupled with appetising food offers to ensure customers can enjoy their breaks."

ESS defence, marine and aerospace provides catering and facilities services at over 250 locations across the UK.
