Eat Game Awards to crown national stars while promoting wild meat
The search is on for local game heroes as the Eat Game Awards opens voting ahead of crowning the finest chefs, creators and purveyors in the UK.
As well as recognising talent in the rearing, preparing and cooking of game the awards seek to bring the meat to wider national attention, predicting its sustainable and nutritional credentials will see it play an increasingly important role in the nation's food basket.
There are 10 categories open to voters including best restaurant regularly serving game, best chef regularly cooking game, best game butcher, best farmers market or street food stall and game hero. Entries have come from across the country and a full list can be seen here.
Voting will be open until 10 January 2020, with winners announced at a gala dinner in February.
