Crabmill pub closed ‘until further notice' following fire

The Crabmill pub in Preston Bagot, Warwickshire, has been forced to close following a fire at the property yesterday.

A statement on the pub's website said: "We have some very sad news to share that we have had a fire at the pub, causing a lot of damage. The important thing is that it was early morning and nobody was hurt, but it of course means that we will be closed until further notice."

Firefighters were initially called to a fire in the kitchen and utility area.

The Old Crab Mill Inn dates to the 17th century, and is believed to have been a mill where crab apples were mashed for making into cider.
