Chotto Matte announces expansion plans including second London opening
Chotto Matte has announced the addition of three international sites to its portfolio next year as well as a second London site.
A second London venue will open in Marylebone Village in January 2022, joining the original Chotto Matte in Soho (pictured), which opened in 2013.
Next year, Chotto Matte will also be bringing its Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine to the rooftop of the former Macy's department store in San Francisco's Union Square in the US; the St Regis Marsa Arabia in Doha, Qatar; and the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as part of the brand's strategy to continue its growth in the Middle East. Both Doha and Riyadh sites will be franchised but managed by Chotto Matte.
The brand is founded and owned by Kurt Zdesar, former European director for Nobu, and it already has restaurants in London, Miami and Toronto.
Zdesar said: "We are delighted to continue our expansion plans for Chotto Matte internationally. We cannot wait for the new phase of growth to allow more people to experience the very best of authentic, innovative Nikkei cuisine in stylish architectural spaces across the globe."
Last year the group announced its Black Roe restaurant in Mayfair would be relaunched as a second Chotto Matte, however, following the opportunity to take over the more spacious Marylebone site, it decided to step back from the Mayfair venue.
