Chickpea Group to open sixth pub in Wiltshire
The Wiltshire-based Chickpea Group has acquired its sixth pub, the Silver Plough near Salisbury, which is due to reopen later this month.
The 18th century pub is located in the village of Pitton and is currently closed for refurbishment.
Once it reopens later in August, it will feature three indoor dining areas seating 100 covers, a beer garden and cosy fireplaces for the winter.
Phase two of the renovation, which is due to start in spring 2024, will see the upstairs and old skittle alley transformed into seven bedrooms.
Chickpea Group has also worked with local suppliers from the south-west of England to create a menu of ‘Pub Bangers' paired with wines from Gardner and Beedle and beers from the business' new Wiltshire-based brewery, Rude Giant Brew Co.
In February, the group announced the addition of the Queen's Head in Broad Chalke to its portfolio. Five extra bedrooms at the pub are currently under construction.
Chickpea Group owns handful of pubs with rooms – including the Bell & Crown in Zeals – and two Nole Pizza shops in the south-west.
The business is owned and run by siblings Jordan and Ethan Davids (who won an Acorn Award in 2022), as well as their friend, Tommy Tullis.
