Both Café Rouge and Carluccio's have confirmed plans to close sites in Brighton later this month.
The causal dining chains will both shut their doors in the city on 19 January.
A spokesperson for Café Rouge, part of Casual Dining Group, said: "We can confirm our site in Brighton has come to the end of its lease and will be closing on 19 January. All of our team have been notified and offered employment at our other local restaurants."

A spokesperson said: "We continually evaluate our portfolio which means being open to offers that make commercial sense for the business. The Brighton team will be offered positions at other Carluccio's restaurants, where possible, and we are committed to supporting them through the transition. We would like to thank all our guests for their custom and loyalty."
Carluccio's Fresca concept, first introduced at its Richmond site, it is being rolled out across the estate. It involves a refreshed design, more formal service style and diversified menu.
