BrewDog's David McDowall and Supersonic Inc's Mark McCulloch launch hospitality recruitment advertising campaign

BrewDog president and chief operating officer David McDowall and Mark McCulloch, founder and chief executive of brand marketing company Supersonic Inc (pictured), have joined forced to launch a hospitality recruitment advertising campaign to address the sector's staffing shortage.

The pair are seeking operators to join them to change both the internal and external perceptions of the hospitality industry and promote, champion, socialise and co-create "the biggest, most effective and impactful recruitment campaign the UK (and beyond) has ever seen".

The campaign, hoped to launch in the fourth quarter of the year, will be amplified through heavy advertising on and offline to attract people at all levels and skills to work in UK hospitality over the next year. It will target people seeking their first job, those who have left hospitality and people from other industries.

For now, the focus will be on bringing operators on board and to source funding for the campaign, with businesses asked to contribute what they can afford towards the cause, for example a portion of their recruitment budget. This will then be used to pay for creative agencies, media planners, digital assets/performance, a website and the cost of advertising.

Those interested in taking part are urged to contact mark@supersonic.marketing.
