Angus Steakhouse hires KPMG to negotiate with landlords
The Angus Steakhouse chain is understood to have hired KMPG to assist the company in its negotiations with landlords after reports that the group is on the brink of collapse.
The Telegraph reports KPMG has written to landlords asking for a rent holiday until trading restrictions are lifted post-lockdown and for rent to be paid on a daily rate rather than quarterly on reopening.
The newspaper said KMPG was preparing for administration if the group fails to secure deals with all landlords by Wednesday.
The steak chain was established in 1968 by Reginald Eastwood and has five restaurants in prime central London locations. Its parent company is the Noble Organisation.
KPMG declined to comment. The Caterer has contacted Angus Steakhouse for comment.
