Albert's Schloss to open venue in Birmingham

Bavarian-style restaurant and bar brand Albert's Schloss has signed to open a site in Birmingham's Paradise, which is undergoing a £700m redevelopment.

Manchester-based Mission Mars is set to launch the 10,000sq ft venue on One Chamberlain Square this autumn, joining brands including Vinoteca, Dishoom and Rosa's Thai.

Roy Ellis, chief executive of Mission Mars, said: "We're creating a retreat from the modern world where we invite guests to discover new things, celebrate one another and revel in the wünder of our magnificent Schloss. Influenced by our travels across Bavaria, Bohemia and Alpine European retreats, expect roaring fires, raucous musical performances, tankards of Europe's finest biers and robust Bavarian food in our wonderful Paradise surroundings."

Rob Groves, regional development director with MEPC, developer-manager of Paradise, added: "This is another new leisure brand and new concept for Birmingham we're thrilled to be welcoming to Paradise. It will offer a whole experience around eating, drinking, music and more to its customers and be an exciting new venue for the centre of Birmingham."

Mission Mars received £10m in 2018 towards expanding its brands across the UK, and at the time announced plans to roll out Albert's Schloss in other major cities, as well as its Rudy's Neapolitan pizzerias. It opened Albert's Schenke in Liverpool in 2019.

The sites are named after Prince Albert, the Anglo-Bavarian prince and husband of Queen Victoria.
