More details revealed for Aktar Islam's third Birmingham restaurant
More details have been revealed for Aktar Islam's third Birmingham restaurant, Pulperia, which will join Opheem and Legna in the city.
Situated in a ground floor unit at Three Brindleyplace, the space is currently undergoing a fit-out and is expected to be open to the public in November. Pulperia will join Alchemist and Cosy Club at the estate.
The restaurant will serve Argentine food inspired by Argentinian asado traditions; starting with small plates followed by smoky steaks cooked on a parilla grill. The menu will offer a range of beef cuts including 17-year-old Galician Blonde, as well as fish, grilled chicken and vegetarian options.
Birmingham-born Islam said: "I've spent a lot of time in Argentina and have been fortunate enough to have had some truly wonderful experiences in the country, which I want to share with diners in Birmingham."
James Campbell Adamson of Hines, which manages the estate, said: "We are hugely pleased at the prospect of welcoming Aktar Islam to Brindleyplace. The levels of confidence in Birmingham generally and this part of the city in particular, are providing an increasing sense of activity and vibrancy."
Islam also plans to transform a former Birmingham night club into a 52-bedroom boutique hotel in 33-61 Summer Row, the opening of which has been pushed back to 2020, and two further restaurants in the city are in the pipeline.
The Brindleyplace estate is asset managed by Hines. Avison Young represented Hines in the completion of the deal.
