Accor to open hotel rooms to remote workers during the day
Hotel group Accor has announced it will be opening up its hotel rooms for remote workers to use as offices during the day.
Rooms can reserved for nine hours, with check-in from 9am and a check-out time of 6pm. Bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 2pm on the scheduled day of arrival.
Guests booking a hotel office package will have access to onsite bars, restaurants and wellbeing rooms in addition to all in-room amenities, subject to availability in participating hotels.
Customers can book for a single day or a five-day package. Booking rates are typically discounted on the average overnight rate for the hotels in which they are located.
The hotel office is available in 250 hotels in the UK and a further 70 hotels across northern Europe, with further expansion of the scheme in Europe expected in the coming weeks.
James Wheatcroft, vice-president of marketing for Accor Northern Europe, said: "With millions of people adapting to new ways of working we have been inspired to support this trend by offering a unique office experience, blending the need for quiet, dedicated working spaces with all the convenience and amenities of a hotel.
"The hotel office is the home office only better, it ensures people can optimise their remote working experience, offering a professional workspace with room to relax in privacy."
